How we work
We work from primary sources: firm announcements, court judgments, regulatory filings, official documentation and the practitioners involved. Where we learn of a story from a press release or another publication, we treat it as a lead and go back to the original source before we write.
We do not republish press releases as articles, and we do not rewrite other publications' reporting. Where a claim rests on a judgment, a filing or a dataset, we link to it.
Some of our reporting is produced with the assistance of AI tools. Every story is reviewed by a human editor before it is published. News reporting runs under the name of the publication. Contributed articles carry the author's own byline and an author page, because the point of writing one is that it is yours.
Our approach
Law Week is a new title, launching in 2026. We are building a record of the business of law as it happens: the deals, the appointments, the regulatory shifts and the judgments that shape how firms and their clients operate.
We would rather publish fewer stories and get them right than chase every wire item.
Who commissions
Eleanor Marsh is our commissioning editor. She handles contributed articles from practitioners: what we are looking for, what we will not run, and the editing before it goes up. She can be reached at eleanor@lawweek.co.uk.
If you are a solicitor or a partner who would like to write for us, she is the person to ask. We do not charge for a contributed article and we do not accept payment to publish one.
Corrections
If we have got something wrong, tell us at editor@lawweek.co.uk. We will correct it, and the article will say that it has been corrected and when. Our editorial standards set out how we handle this.
